Matthew Lyons
Chairman & CEO

Matt Lyons has more than 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. During those years, he has worked for a number of prominent medical implant and device companies.

In 1986, Mr. Lyons held the position of Development Engineer with Osteonics Corp., now known as Stryker Orthopedics (SYK), where he was a vital part of the Hip Group.

He joined Exactech (EXAC) in 1989 as the first Engineering Manager of the company's brand-new orthopedics division. While in that position, Mr. Lyons developed the company's first porous coated total hip system. Along with product development, Matt was responsible for establishing many of the company's quality control, regulatory, and manufacturing operating systems.

In the early 1990s, Mr. Lyons helped build a family orthopedics business, which was eventually acquired by Image Guided Systems.

In 1996, he co-founded Blackstone Medical, Inc. As President and CEO, Mr. Lyons grew the company's sales to $92M in less than 10 years, helping to introduce more than 20 Class I, II, and III instrument and implant systems in the U.S. and internationally. In 2006, Blackstone was the largest and fastest-growing, privately held spinal implant company in the world, and was acquired by Orthofix International (OFIX).

Mr. Lyons holds numerous patents in orthopedics and medical devices. He is currently concentrating his efforts in the dental implant market as co-founder of Simpact. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, with a BSME degree, specializing in biomechanics.

Alan Lombardo
President

Alan Lombardo, President and co-founder of Simpact, has more than 20 years of dynamic leadership and entrepreneurial experience in the biomedical engineering sector.

Mr. Lombardo served as Vice President of Product Development for Blackstone Medical, an international developer of spinal implant and instrument products, which was acquired by Orthofix in 2006. During his tenure, Blackstone Medical grew to $92M in annual revenue and established a strong international distribution throughout Europe.

Mr. Lombardo's previous experience includes Manager of Product Development at Howmedica, Project Engineer at Implex, and Product Development Engineer at Osteonics. All companies develop and market total joint implants.

Mr. Lombardo holds a BS in mechanical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
